Why is Africa’s Big Five called the Big Five? Well, we certainly got some interesting answers!! To set the record straight the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo are called the Big Five because they are the five most dangerous animals to hunt on foot in Africa. It’s an old hunting term.
